Bedbug #1 Preview Three
Ever wonder what goes into creating one comic book story? Here's the art and script for "Invitation" - one of the stories from Bedbug #1. As you can see it's a lot of work (and it's not even formatted and lettered yet!)
Don't worry, the comic itself will be tidied up and professional when its ready to go to print!

Bedbug #1 sneak peak #2!
Sometimes I forget that there might actually be people looking forwards to Bedbug #1 and might actually want to see a sneak peak from time to time.
Let's check in to see what Bedbug is up to...
Check back again soon for more updates!
Let's check in to see what Bedbug is up to...
Looks like our hero is in a bit of trouble. I'm sure all of those super villains - Scrapper, Player One, Boogeyman, Rook and Calamity - are just saying hello to Bedbug and not going to do anything bad to him, right? Right?
Check back again soon for more updates!

Letters! We want letters! Lots and lots of letters!
Hey all, one of the things I loved about comics was the personal connection that formed between the readers and the creators via the letters column. When I was younger (OK, when I was in college), I would write into my favorite comics to discuss the events of the latest issue.
Remember, this was waaaay before the internet allowed a fan to directly talk to a comic creator (Directly talk to the people who made comics? Was such a thing possible? It was like talking to God!) or at least the editor. Though I wrote many times, I wasn't published very often. I guess I was no T.M. Maple, Scribbler or Uncle Elvis when it came to crafting compelling letters to the editor. My crowning acheivement was when one of my letters was published in Batman #0 - I was a part of Batman history!
Now that I start to assemble Bedbug #1, I realize that the comic wouldn't be complete without it's own letters column. Here's where YOU come in. I need letters!! Since the comic hasn't come out yet, what the heck can you to me write about? Here's some ideas: Do you have any questions about Bedbug? Do you have any thoughts about his previous adventures found in Shooting Star Comics Anthology? (They're all available for free here on this webpage) Who is your favorite Bedbug character? How about some fan art? Send me a letter about any of these and you might have your it selected to be answered in Bedbug #1! (That's way better than being in a 0 issue!)
All you have to do is mail me at mightybedbug@gmail.com
Thanks and see you on the letter pages!

Ten years already!!??
It seems like just yesterday when Bedbug premiered in Shooting Star Comics Anthology #1 - and since then there have been Bedbug action figures, Bedbug t-shirts, appearances of Bedbug in comics and academic books...
OK, so maybe it's a bit of a hyperbole, but at least it's true - there have been Bedbug action figures (made by myself), Bedbug t-shirts (available for purchase on this site) and Bedbug has had cameos in Dave Ryan's War of the Independents and in both of my books of video gaming. (Level Up! The Guide to Great Video Game Design and Swipe This! The Guide to Great Touchscreen Game Design)
I admit, Bedbug hasn't quite set the world on fire like I had hoped he would back in 2002. But if Bedbug hasn't quite made the big time, why don't I just give up on him?
Because, to paraphrase another crime fighting hero, I believe in Bedbug.
Bedbug's not super-powered or a billionaire or married to a super-model. He relies on his brains first and his fists second. He's got a sense of humor in the face of adversity. He's a responsible father and he never, ever gives up no matter had bad things get. He's everything I would love to be in real life and he's a hero I think today's world can still use. I'm tired of grim and gritty and pessimistic "heroes" and I think you might be too.
That's why I'm going to try my best to publish a ten year anniversary comic with all-new stories including the never-seen before origin of Bedbug. Join me in making this birthday wish come true and make this comic happen - keep your eyes peeled to this space for news and special previews pertaining to my efforts.

Did someone say NEW T-Shirts!!??

Has it been only 4 years since I released a new Bedbug T-shirt?
Well, the new one is really good. Bedbug teaches you how to defeat a supervillain in 3 easy steps and lays the smackdown on fan-favorite Grave Robber!
Get them while they last right here!

You can make Bedbug toy a reality!

Hey all,
I recently discovered a great site called Patch Together that lets artists submit their designs for toys. It's long been my dream to have Bedbug in plastic (or in this case vinyl) form. I submitted the above image (drawn by the super-talented Franco) as a contestant. It was accepted and is now in the running to become a real figure.
Here's where you come in, if I can get enough votes, Patch Together will make the first offiicial Bedbug vinyl figure and sell a limited number of them. All you have to do is go to the below link
and vote (you want to vote a "5") for Bedbug!
Let's make this happen and thanks for your help in advance!

Not dead yet!

So I've been playing around with this idea for a Bedbug toy for sometime now. It would be Bedbug on one of those suction cup "pop-up" toys (do they even have a name) that you sometimes see around Halloween.
The thing is, before I sink time and money into this, I need to know if there's any interest. It would be small - no more than a few inches tall and the goal would to keep it around a couple of bucks in price.
Let me know if you Bedbug fans want a little poppin' BB for your collections.

Mighty Bedbug custom action figure

When I'm not creating comic books, making video games or board games, I'm customizing action figures. I made this Bedbug many years ago when I was publishing Shooting Star Comics.
Bedbug was made from a BTAS Nightwing figure, Toy Biz Marvel character's (I don't remember which) hands, a Dragon Ball Z character head and Buzz Lightyear boots. The belt, gauntlets, boot details and antennea were made from kneadatite and the clear googles are bits from a STAS Lex Luthor suit.

I think he turned out pretty good!

Bedbug and the Super Battalion!
Bedbug's Utility Belt
Bedbug in the world's first playable comic!
"The Game of Death" is actually a "choose-your-own-adventure" style comic book story from Shooting Star Comics #4. Just look for the little numbered box in the corner of each panel and when you are given choice, find the panel with the corresponding number and continue reading from there! Good luck! First published in 2004.
